Nestled on the gentle hills almost at the foot of Lake Trasimeno, the Stefania Mezzetti company covers an area of about 10 hectares. Divided into three vineyards.
Vernazzano is the first vineyard encountered coming from the south, a body of just over 3.5 hectares, Merlot planted in 2020 and Cabernet Sauvignon in 2015. Surrounded by olive groves, it represents the natural extension of the finely restored ancient village "La Farmhouse "home of the first farmhouse.
A few kilometers in the direction of Cortona, following the state road and letting ourselves be enchanted by the view of the lake and its islands, we meet a natural amphitheater of Merlot, Syrah, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon whose rows descend and meet the ancient and tenacious Umbrian grape variety Grechetto. The rows of vineyards and young olive trees act as a corollary to the splendid Villa Fontanicchio which gives them the name of the second four hectares of the farm.
Terontola hosts the last part of the vineyards which here become Doc Cortona Rosso with the pure vinification of Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah; spearhead of all the Cortonese denomination of origin. The journey ends with the winemaking cellar, the proprietary oil mill barrel cellar which watches over the precious ripening fruits from above Terontola.
